We hope you will join us when we gather for inspiring, meaningful, challenging worship and perhaps even a little fun and companionship. We know that visiting any new church for the first time can feel awkward however we know you will discover many wonderful people here and as a small church you will fit in quickly.

As a church, we are committed to the person of Jesus Christ,and we base our teaching upon the revealed word of God. It is our desire that people come to place their trust in Christ to forgive them and lead them, and that they grow in their relationship with him. We feel God is doing extraordinary things among extraordinary people and would love to see you be a part.

Jesus said, "Whoever drinks the water I give him will never thirst." (John 4:14)

Can we help you in any way

Our ministry team and Church Members are always here to serve and we would be honoured if there is any way Mount Pleasant Church of Christ can pray for or minister to you and your family. Every week our Prayer Team meet and pray for all the prayer requests that come in from our Sunday services on our 'Response Cards' and from other sources.
This team also calls and visits on people in need, delivering meals, offering support and comfort, providing practical help and prayer.
Throughout the year we offer various courses on such topics as marriage, parenting, recovery and grief, as well as courses like Alpha that seek to let others outside the church know about the love and grace of God.

Our Pastor

Pastor Gay Addison

Since 2009, I have been privileged to serve as Pastor of the Mt Pleasant Church of Christ. God, in his goodness and grace, has been reminding us afresh that the Gospel is "the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes." He has been leading us forward by inviting us deeper into this foundation that has already been laid, Jesus Christ-The Way, Truth & Life. In accordance with God's wisdom, it has been through confronting our weaknesses that we've grown in appreciating our true strength in him. A spiritual vitality continues to develop as we seek to live from this focused centre.

Associate Pastor Bill Addison

Since 2009 it has been my privilege to serve as both a member of the Ministry Team of the Mt Pleasant Church of Christ and as a member of the Resource Team of Churches of Christ In WA. I have been married to Gay for 34 years. We have 2 married sons and 3 incredible grandchildren. Over the years I have worked with Gay in pastoral ministry in a number of churches including Northam, Mandurah and Kelmscott and have also taught Physical Education in a number of high schools. I hold diplomas in Secondary Teaching and Christian Ministry, a Bachelor's Degree in Human Movement Studies and a Masters Degree in Christian Counselling. I thank God for the privilege of knowing and growing in Him.

Servant Leadership Team

The current Servant Leadership Team are:

  • Kate Stannard: Kate, who is originally from England, says "Originally from England, I have attended Mount Pleasant for 5-6 years. I deeply value the loving nature of our church family and enjoy supporting Gay and Bill as they seek to provide open and accountable leadership.

  • Peter Pannekoek Peter who lived in Geraldton for many years says, "Penny my wife, and I have been attending MPCOC since June 2015. We both love the fellowship and caring community here and thank God for his mercy and love as we continue to grow together in him"

  • Danielle Hewitt Danielle says "I love this church; for its wisdom, encouragement and ability (through no words at all) to say "we love you for who you are". MPCOC is my home and we pray you find yours, here or with another congregation."

    Together with Gay and Bill they meet every second month to prayerfully discuss the needs of the Church. img
    They aim to provide loving care for every child and young person that walks through the door of MPCC. img
    As a congregation we greatly appreciate their generous offering of their time and talent. img
